Hello there!
Last November I messed up real bad and I need some help guys. I had U.E 3.4 dual boot on my laptop and because I had two different image generic numbers - or kernel number - on start up, I tried to delete the old one with "apt-get remove --purge linux-image-generic" but unfortunately I delete the whole disk image of Ultimate Edition 3.4 by mistake. My laptop wont start no linux at all, it shows me just this then windows starts.
"Windows Vista (loader) (on /dev/sda1)"
"Memory test (memtest 86+)"
"Memory test (memtest86+, serialconsole 115200)"
I tried to fix it myself but no success. ...I said no success because I don't want to re-install Ultimate Edition 3.4 and not be able to recover all my bookmarks I had on Firefox.
Is there any way I could get access to these data ( firefox bookmarks, pics and videos) back them up in a usb stick, then proceed to a reinstallation??????????...
please help!
BTW I tried the U.E 3.8 live CD. it looks excellent to me. I plan to give it a try. GREAT JOB on it!!!!!... Hats down!
