Floppies need to be Fat32 file system to be read by Linux as far as I know. How old are they? What you could do is use your virtual box Windows to copy what is on those discs and store it on your hard drive and then throw out the floppies or have a bonfire with them and toast marshmallows!!!

Hi pch.shot, you are absolutely right as usual, this is now a floppy free house. I used my daughters PC to retrieve any info I wanted and put it all on a memory stick. I still haven't got around to installing XP in the virtualbox yet. I lost my virtualbox 2 when I installed my new system so will have to reinstall virtualbox. I think I will give the OSE virtualbox another shot.

Did you toast marshmallows? I think the straight Virtual Box is better because it has usb support. I haven't looked at it recently because I have been using VMPlayer instead. I will probably install it again later this week. Next time you do a fresh install just save your VDI file to a disc or another hard drive so you don't have to re create it. It will save you a lot of time.

Bad news, Not due to the Mann

Postby buzzard » Tue Mar 03, 2009 12:16 pm

TV Time won't work with bttv cards ( ck Google ) anymore, Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.4 have kernal changes that seems to cause dev/video0 to mis detect or other issues(s). I had to roll back to ubuntu 8.04.2 LTS to use my TV Time with Winfast TV 2000 XP RM that has worked fine for 2 years now. If you mare using an older ubnuntu, be careful on updating your OS ????. Ubuntu 8.04.2 LTS works great !!!
Web Cams are included in this issues as it it seems, Sorry but :(.
I Googled my but off and DID NOT find a fix, If anybody has one PLEASE share. It is ALWAYS something. This issue same with : Mint v6 Gnome, Super ubuntu 2008.11, NOTE, DreamLinux new v3.5 being Debian is NOT affected as it seems its kernal is basically same as ubuntu 8.04.2. :(:(:(

Dear friends,

When this release will be officially available? Is it now final or beta?

It has been released and it is final and beta. Meaning that TheeMahn has made his release final, but Ubuntu is always a work in progress. They only release a "True" final every three years. In the meantime they constantly improve upon new programs and add hardware support and so fourth. If you want a final stable version then stick with 8.04 or Ultimates version of 8.04. If you do not mind doing some work getting things set up properly the way you like and what not then be my guest and grab the currant release. Just be warned that you WILL encounter problems and it may not always be an issue with what Thee has done, but an issue with the core Ubuntu release. Please people, all I ask is for some patience and understanding that we may not always have an answer or fix for your problems. We will try however to get to the bottom of each and every issue brought to us.

I simply want to know, when the frontpage will be updated.

I am updating the main page, as I type this... I would love to thank users of this forum for making the torrent a success. I have never seen a release so successful torrent wise, i used to think torrent was crap, I now have a new aspect. I will after finished drop rss feeds, and at that point will be a beginning to the end ;)

Let me get the release out of the way, I will be glad to address questions that can't be answered otherwise here. I will be straight I have so many PM's and emails I have lost all hope of helping an individual. I will now address any issue I see that no one has an answer for what I call "broadband", open & honest is what I am trying to tell you. If an issue is too heavy Cab will call me. Ask here if you do not get an answer otherwise. Personally I would prefer it to be Ultimate Edition 2.1 related since this is a Ultimate Edition 2.1 thread.

Thanks everyone,

TheeMahn

Screenshots are on the server etc, all the info for me to finish, won't happen this eve. Want to scare them away first ;) Gnomelook did you know I am #1, based on what? I accomplished that in 1 week actually 8 days.

Thanks everyone,

TheeMahn

And this is why I try and promote torrenting when possible as it is free and makes every one work together. And that is the way it should be. ;)

Ccal, was that way where is he? I wish I knew what then I know know ;)
