You (or the installing program) have to update grub after each installation of graphics drivers.(otherwise your system is trying to boot with grub still using its old configuration not yet being aware of the new driver installation.)
Open terminal and type this:
sudo update-grub and reboot. You may have to also run nvidia-xconfig in terminal to get the correct display for your card
