OK, let me start by saying that I have the exact same problem with Ubuntu 11 64 bit, and LinuxMint 12 64 bit. Why I have no idea. The Ultimate Edition 3.2 dvd boots fine on my laptop and installs without any problems. DVD has been checked and is good. I have also tried booting from a USB stick using unetbootin, and same exact error appears. This rig is running Ultimate Edition 2.9, Win7 64,LinuxMint 11 64 , and Netrunner 4.1 without any problems all in grub.
Now the DVD boots fine, the selection appears and asks language, English i choose, Then I choose try ubuntu without installing, first option. Then after loading some stuf really fast on the screen the error appears
Here is the error exactly as it appears on the screen:
BusyBox v1.18.4 (Ubuntu 1:1.18.4-2ubuntu2) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands
(initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: invalid argument
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs
Here is my hardware-
Asus PQ5 Pro
Intel E8400 3.0 ghz core2duo
6 GB DDR2 ram 1033 mhz
SATA dvd drive
SATA HDD (3)
Nvidia GTX 260-856 Ram Pci-E 16x
USB keyboard saitek cyborg
USB mouse logitec
Network- D-link DWA-130
As I said 2.9 works just fine on this comp. The 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Ultimate Edition 3.2 DO NOT WORK. LinuxMint 12 DOES NOT WORK either.
Does anyone know what the cause could be ? I have tried disabling USB, internal network card, on-board audio, etc.
Thanks for any help.
