I'm not sure of the bios version. I believe it to be stock for this model. It asks for password upon boot, but before Windows starts. I know of the jumper method, but not how to do it on a netbook. I believe it is the bios asking as it will not let me enter bios settings without the password even upon command to do so at boot.

So youdontknow/forgot your bios password..?
I know that once you are in, you can press the down key 4 times and the bios password is cleared. (In phoneix bios)
