I don't understand why it is not working. I think all logitech mouse wheels should work right outta da box. I have 2 logitech mice and every other mouse wheel I've used works for scrolling just fine. What is not working exactly? the actual scrolling fuction? In terminal do
Code: Select all
xev

put your mouse over the screen and "scroll" both backwards and forwards and tell me what "button" is being listed for each movement. It should be button 4 and button 5. Just like the picture below. Put the mouse pointer in the little box and "scroll" you should have an output like what is shown in the terminal window on my screen shot. (notice how it shows button 5 on the very first line at the top of the terminal? This was when my mouse was over the box and I scrolled)
What does yours say? Are you using firefox 3 or firefox-2?

Seems I was not clear in my explanation.
Wheel is working fine but its working manually, so on a long page I have to manually scroll the wheel 20-30 times to get to the bottom, where as there is an option when you click the middle button it changes the icon to 4 side auto scroll which you can do quite faster.

In my case I want auto scroll to work.

right on my mouse pushing the middle button just double clicks, I guess you'd have to change that somehow. i have logitech s 510.

Mine is not a usb mouse.
I have logitech PS mouse, I guess it should work by default but I checked the mouse settings in the control panel I could not find any thing for making the wheel work for auto scroll.

EDITED
found the solution here.
