2.9 panel issues

Postby witblits1970 » Sat May 28, 2011 6:14 pm

ok i have no idea where the 2.9 support forum post went? what has been happening with 2.9 on my box is that on the desktop panel, all the icons ? or whatever you wish to call them have gone , or at random times they appear but not in its correct place?also i have noticed that all compiz effects have changed for no reason at all. when i open a document say in writer and would like to save it, the save tab disappears when i want to press it.
i had to do a fresh install today but even after a fresh install i experienced the same issues??????
what has gone wrong or am i doing something wrong?? :?

Re your questions. The Ultimate Edition 2.9 support forum is in the archive section along with some other previous forums. Re your other question about your panels and icons, this sound to me like when you have a bad installation or some system configuration with drivers issues ect that is causing some incompatibilities with your visual display. You said you did an installation today, did you check the dvd for defects etc or if its a newly burnt dvd, did you do a md5 check on the iso to make sure that all is well?

it is the same dvd i used on my previous install, about 4 months or so age about the time 2.9 was released. i went as far as installing Mint and then 2.9 again but got the same results.
in some way i cant wait for 3.0 to be released so i can do a fresh install yet again, at this point im using my MS machine for this post as im frustrated at the minute not being able to do stuff on my "normal " box.
