Have you tried left clicking on the volume applet in the top panel and selecting Preferences? Then check the Hardware and Output tabs to see if there is something there you can change. Might help to have something playing at the time so you can hear it if the sound starts coming thru the speakers.

System > Preferences > Sound will get you to the same options as well.

I believe the packages Admin-Amir is referring to are pavucontrol, and alsamixergui. Both of which can be found in Synaptic Package Manager
System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager
Or they can be installed by running this in a terminal
Applications > Accessories > Terminal
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install pavucontrol alsamixergui

Enter your password when prompted (which wont be displayed) and press Enter
Should be in
Applications > Sound & Video
or
Applications > System Tools
Once installed
<BREW>

Hello hotrod.

2 Q for you please.
1- have you upgrade your kernel to 2.6.34?
2- have you download the packages that I have post for Multimedia and install on your machine all the support?
