Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.6

Live Radio not Functioning [Resolved]

Postby buschbarber » Tue Jun 01, 2010 10:26 am

My favorite Talk Radio station has a Live Audio Feed, on their web site. I used to listen to it when I was running Windows 7. With Ultimate Edition 2.6, when I click on the link to listen to the Feed, there is no audio. As far as I know, all other audio is working fine.

What do you think is the issue

Hello buschbarber.

It looks like they close FireFox function - it works just with Explorer.

I only have Firefox in Ultimate Edition 2.6. Is there a way to get IE compatibility in Ultimate Edition?

It seems to work for me using Firefox and Chromium. Are you having issues with other sites using Flash?

Not that I know of. I do not seem to have a problem with Youtube, for example. I know that Flash 10 is installed. When I click on the link to Listen to WHAM Live, I see a black web page with the Tab called Radio Player and no sound. The word Done is in the lower left corner.

I configured Wine Doors and installed IE6, When IE5 appeared in the Applications. Internet menu, I launched it and went to the WHAM1180 web site. I clicked on Listen, and it informed me that Flash Player was not installed. I installed Flash Player 10, from Wine Doors, but when I opened IE6, again, and went to WHAM1180, again, it still gave me the error about Flash Player.

I checked Synaptic and Flash 10 seems to be installed, but if I check Firefox 3.6.3, it only has the Flash 9 plugin.

Removing Flash 9 with Synaptic might help.

Despite the fact that I installed the 64bit version of UE2.6, it apparently did not have the 64bit version of Flash 10 installed or it had a problem. I merely searched for Lucid and Flash 10, found the 64bit version of Flash 10, and installed it. Now, I can play the Live Radios without a problem, with Firefox.
