Wicd and Network Manager Wireless fail

I just can't get a break with my router it seems. Maybe just maybe I need to get a for linux freedly gaming router that will support wpa2 passcodes. I just can't seem to figure out why when I had WICD it would connect without any problem, but for some reason it won't now (no matter what I do). Only at home... wirelessly.

You might try setting up wpa_supplicant manually, see how here WPA2 network connection fail

If you do get a new router I like the linksys. I have a WRT150N running DD-WRT firmware and it works great.
Might look at the Router Database list there before buying one so you can change it later even if you don't want to at first. Personally I threw the linksys disc away and flashed it to DD-WRT before I ever hooked it up. DD-WRT adds a lot of functionality to the router that the stock firmware didn't offer and I like the layout better.

There's also other firmware for routers like Tomato and open-wrt but I haven't tried those.

Unplug the router ALL connections. wait 2 minutes then hook it all back up with the power being the last thing you hook up. Wait for it to fully load and reboot if needed. It usually works. My D-Link was bad about that every day I had to do it.

Yeah I convinced something is wrong with that Dlink router and using and protection on it. Draft N I give it away and try it out with someone else after I reset reboot firmware upgrade it.

I couldn't see all the security settings in the screenshot but remember that for N band speeds you should set it to AES encryption, besides it's more secure than TKIP. Some people don't like linksys routers but I don't plan on spending $500+ for one of those they do like. At least linksys routers are made by Cisco which in my opinion makes decent routers.

Yeah I think that's the problem there I can set it for "BOTH" AES and TKIP at the same time and still do b,g,n
