Stupid corrupted files. How to ride myself of them?

Postby Jeahavee » Thu Jun 10, 2010 8:08 pm

Okay I got some files and folders that... Windows can't read or delete, Ubuntu can't delete or read, and I can't find anyway to use them either. They are files that can't be read :o so they are useless. I need a super override that's simple, but deadly  so I can rid myself of these annoying files and folders once and for all  (evil  )

I think you want this little jewel. It works even if the filename is corrupted which is why win. and linux can't do anything with them.

Delete or Remove Files With Inode Number

Gets even the most stubborn stains out so use with caution. :D

Okay before I even found out the Inode Number I notice Wolfs post said empty trash empty trash... I've done that lol  BUT I have 3 os to empty.
 I go to find those files and :?:  they're GONE!! <BREW> :o :D <BREW> COMBO BREAKER. So yeah I gotta empty all my trash lol. Holefully when I'm on 7 :P I won't see those files anymore. :ugeek:

However Inode Number looks like it might come in handy.

Something else to keep in mind Jeahavee is that if you are using Ultimate Edition and you browse to windows and delete things by moving them to trash as opposed to delete bypassing the trash they will be placed in a linux trash bin in windows so windows can't empty it. You have to do it manually from linux.

I found that out when deleting viruses in windows so the best thing to do if you're going to use linux to delete files in windows is to use the delete bypassing trash.
