9.10 Services Gui not in Admin Menu?

The First thing I do when Setting up anew Ultimate Edition is Instal DenyHost and Disable uneeded Services Like : ATD-Cron-rsnc-multicast dns ...etc

There is no ADMIN SERVICES Gui in this new 2.4 ? How do dis able Remote access etc

I noticed this same problem in Basic 9.10 live cd as well

Well....the bug report pretty much explaines it...no?


It's too late to add this in for release now, seeing as it would be part of the ISO. Adding new applications to users desktops as a SRU isn't really appropriate either, especially seeing as it won't really have had any extensive testing yet. I think this will have to wait until Lucid now.

So Is there a new kernel out with a fix ?

So If We install The current Verizon and upgrade The kernel the problem will be Fixed ?

I use this verison Because am not a Command line Nija Master..... : just a old windows user trying to use linux :)

so What do I need to do?

I know Remote Access Is turned on by default nad I always had a certain level of comfort knowing i could disable services that are not necessary:
ATD-
Cron-
rsnc-
multicast dns .
Remote Access
Folder Sharing -hidden shares etc

I also install DENYHOST

I need all the available resources I can on my low end pc <BREW>

remote is never on by default on my machines....you need sudo to even edit to turn it on.


try out bum.


oh ya...if you like to tweak windows then use nlite.

The Sevices Gui is a Big BUg
Is Big Enough of ? Mark- That we will hold off upgrading our other 5 Ultimate Edition Machines Migration.
