further investigation into this error leads to this .. this is not total output you wouldn't have time to read the entire output
out put gathered with this command
killall pulseaudio
pulseaudio -vv
D: alsa-mixer.c: Looking at profile output:hdmi-stereo+input:iec958-stereo
D: alsa-mixer.c: Checking for recording on Digital Stereo (IEC958) (iec958-stereo)

this leads me to believe that the iec958 switch needs to be enabled .. which can only be done with the gnome alsa mixer
which is then outmaticly overwtten by the new xorg back to the old config ..
were do i need to open it ?? the alsa-base.conf most likely but with what command line ...

sry i new that much how do enter it like emmmm
enable iec958
start iec958
modeprobe etc/sbin/drivers/iec958.ko
command line structure that is what i was looking for
from the data i gathered and posted tells me that the hdmi is receiving the raw data feed .. in fact it is getting to the tv
problem is the video and audio are not traveling at the same speed
video appears to be going 48000Hz the raw data is going 44100Hz so the TV receives the sound info sees that it is not sincking with the video speed which it has been receiving from boot up sends message expected 48000Hz received 44100Hz. alsa receives the message tells me it expected 44100Hz but received 48000Hz
geuss you would need to under stand some hard ware facts to truly comprehind what is happening
the hard ware engineer that designed the card didn't anticipate that there would be a need to sink the video and sound assuming that the software drivers would handle it till his commission was up on the wire job

bingo...
Crap I read something about that too last night. It should say in the alsa page I linked a few post up.Ill see if I can find the page. Have you ruled out that x doesn't have the correct EDID?Your not anything over hdmi right?
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/HDMImaybe relevant?
http://alsa.opensrc.org/.asoundrc#Default_PCM_devicegeuss you would need to under stand some hard ware facts to truly comprehind what is happening
Makes perfect sense to me.

found this...read near the bottom.
https://wiki.edubuntu.org/DesktopTeam/S ... ExperienceUnresolved issues
* ALSA does not yet support more than 2 channels of audio over HDMI, even though HDMI is capable of 7.1 uncompressed PCM, so unless HDMI support is improved in the next couple of months, the only 5.1/7.1 speaker output support will remain optical and coaxial outputs.
Looks like your out of luck...at least for now.

the first problem i see is the mode "1280x800"
that i think is blue ray deff i don't think that is typical hdmi standard
the highest resolution i have on the computer is "1080x720"
and only with out mirroring the screen can i get that.
we are on the right coarse here i think i gotta play around with some of the settings on my TV
can you check if there is anywhere besides the pulse.pa to change the 44100Hz settings .. the one in the .pa breaks the system. i already tried it
thanks

Hello dr0z.
First of all you can work with 2 Mixers on the same session Pulse+Alsa!!!
look for my Answer around the 2.4 on the sound issue.
then when bout Mixers work side by side that can solve the sound issue.
Then, look is you have install the packages to support DVI.
under synaptic-DVI.
I have not stereo - more then that and the mix with 2 sound server cover all the software just fine.
