Sharing Hard Drives (Wireless Laptop & Wired Desktop)?

Laptop is wireless with UE2.3 primary, Vista Premium alternate.
Desktop is wired with UE2.3 primary, XP Home alternate.

Internet is cable broadband from "junk telephony device" via ethernet crossover cable to router.
Router is Linksys WRT54GS ver6 (preferred - WPA2) or Westell Versalink DSL wireless router (alternate - WEP :o DSL disabled & set to see internet on port #1).

Prefer to use the Linksys as it has better security but have just determined that I can use the (dsl) wireless router as an emergency spare.

When using the non-Linksys and running XP Home on the desktop, I can mount its e: and f: (physical hard drives) from my laptop (running UE2.3). The desktop uses a program called Network Magic to arrange to share those hard drives and also the desktop's printer.

After a short "playing around" with an rpm-based distro I have decided to permanently install Ultimate Edition onto my desktop to compliment the installation on my laptop. :P

Would like to know the steps I need to perform in order to share my desktop's printer second and third (& possibly first) hard drives with my laptop (in UE2.3).

Would also like to know how to access the laptop's hard drive from the desktop - but this is not nearly as important.

Thank you!
