Hi cappaj1,
If your question is referring to Thunderbird, after I put in my server information (there was no question regarding password), I then clicked on get mail and then Thunderbird asked for the server password. I told it to remember it, and she has been good to go ever since. I also sent myself an email, and the same thing happened with the outgoing server - Thunderbird asked for the password once, I told it to remember, and that was it. Hope it helps.

Cheers.

Might shed some light. This is how I set up mine.I found out its a little buggy with passwords,so don't check save pass.Jaunty is also buggy with the mail notification(little icon that alerts you of mail) and is a known bug. They just havn't fixed it yet.The only way I can get notifications is if I had evolution open....which is a pain, and kinda defeats the purpose.

When you open evolution and click on get mail it should bring up a box asking for your password.Does it not?Put you pass in,and click ok.If theres any errors they should be shown in the next box.Or you can open a terminal and enter evolution, and it will show the errors if any.
