Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.3

lost log in , ,,screen [SOLVED}

Postby razy60 » Sat Jul 25, 2009 11:20 am

Hi there,
I seem to have misplaced the log in screen the one where it says "system activated" it was there when i first loaded up 2.3 and it was there when i turned the PC on for the first time after install, but it now seems to have gone and i am left with the ubuntu log in screen.
All i have done since the install is turn on compiz effects, cube etc, download the updates, Nvidia restricted driver and ensure that flash 10 is working in FireFox, i did look at KDE (looks rubbish on my screen) but the log in screen had already gone by then.

Cheers for any help

Raz

Are you talking about the login window or sounds ? :?: is your login window manager in system>administration set to the ubuntu login screen? :?:or is it missing all together ? :?:

Hi,
I think i had a bad install disc, once i cured the audio in the log in i lost audio in the GUI if i turned the audio off in the log in i then got audio back in the GUI, This was pretty much the same for most apps/settings activate one it affected some thing else also i seemed to have a different problem every time i restarted the PC, so i downloaded a another iso burned that and so far its been stable.
Cheers for the help though. <BREW>
