Did you update your system before you loaded the ati drivers?

I f you can get into a console try this...

sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx

Then reboot,and see if you can log in.

Its a driver problem...and common.

Please take a look at theses links.It might be best if the driver was installed directly from ATI's web site.

Try to connect both of em at same time.If you have a gui on the monitor you might be able to set up your lcd.But either way its a driver issue...tis the bane of us Linux users.

No problem... I'm already crazy.

The best thing to do is just google your specs,and add jaunty to the search.My ATI card works fine with the open source driver(fine,but I can't play games.),but you will get different results with different cards.I always had good results from the drivers at ATI's web site.They are newer than the ones from Ubuntu.
