Sound for games

How come I can get the sound to work when I'm playing music or videos but not when I am playing a game like Open Arena or Alien Arena.

You have to configure the game to use pulse.Or use alsa instead of pulse on your os.
Google those games that don't have sound,and insert ubuntu no sound in your search.

The only game I had trouble with was enemy territory.Maybe check your sound volume ,and see if pcm is turned up.

I believe its a pulse thing.Sometimes I had to reboot to get the sound to work in games.....Until I Just let alsa take over my sound.Search the forum for pulse,and alsa.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libasound2-plugins: Depends: libasound2 (> 1.0.17) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages


this is what i get when I try to install libasound2-plugins. So it doesnt work for me.
