Unless you want to install Ultimate as a Virtual Machine inside Windows, you can't install Ultimate in the same partition as XP. And are you trying to install 'Ubuntu' or "Ultimate Edition" ??Banyon wrote:I am a Linux noob and am attempting to install Ultimate 2.1 alongside XP. I have a Windows partition (NTFS) prepared for the install, but it appears Linux will not install on a NTFS partition.
When I get to the "Prepare disk space" part of the install, I choose Manual so I can choose where I want to install Ubuntu. I choose my partition but receive an error message when I click Forward: "No root file system is defined. Please correct this from the partitioning menu."
I don't know what this means? How do I fix this?
Thanks in advance!
To install as in the subject of your post, Google "ubuntu dual boot" .. or http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/
