This distro is not geared towards beginners. It is for people that want to learn and develop their Linux savvy.
Beginners can pay 200 bucks and stick with Windows. And good luck demanding anything from Thee. I know exactly what he would say to you if he was here right now. The biggest problem is that most people want everything done for them without doing any thinking or work. Maybe we can arrange someone to visit people's homes all over the world and walk them through every little thing.
What software are you looking for? I just add the medibuntu repository(edit the repos that don't work out of my repo file) and anything I can't find in Synaptic I look for on the web. I don't know why this is so confusing. I don't know of any operating system that is perfect. If you know one let us all know. And stop complaining and go get what you are looking for and stop trying to fix something that isn't all that important. You are all making a big deal out of nothing. If you are looking for packages, ask. It is as simple as that!!!
p.s. I was up and running in a little over an hour(15 minutes to install the system) downloaded and installed Virtual Box, VM Player, flash plugin, py karaoke, totem xine(removed totem gstreamer), libdvdcss2, ubuntu-restricted-extras, numlockx, did my updates and did the few other tweaks I do and I have a great system. I have only been using Linux for about a year and am learning something new every day. That's why I like it!!!
