Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.0

intel pro/wireless 3945 abg

Postby billy20 » Wed Nov 12, 2008 5:44 pm

can't seem to get the wireless 3945 intel working. 2.0 recognises it, but see no wireless signals. light is on and 2.0 says wireless network card is enabled.

one last note. don't know if it matters, but if only tried it from live cd. keeps telling me no network connection. I know it works that way hard wired. but thats not an option right now. friggin hotel room.

Thanks
Bill

ok billy, you are in a hotel room, Chances are, you are accessing an wireless " access Point"

now about that wireless. your intel wireless thats an internal device right? Well if it is, you can right-click onto the network icon and you should be able to get a drop down menu. One of the options, is "enable wireless that should get it to start sending out signal. If that part is already done, you will have to go and left-click the same icon and "edit network connections" ( I am running under the assumption that your hotel is running a "FREE" hotspot.)

Thanks for the reply ixnod.

Your assumptions are all right. I've tried both right and left clicks on the network icon.
edit shows no wireless signals. I know there are 3 different ones bounceing around here.
all free and unsecured. all low signals though. shows 2 bars in ahh xp

+over in the Internet tab, there should be a KwiFi applet, that may help you find a network
