TheeMahn will be working on the splash screen issue when he has time.
This issue is due to drastic changes to the splash screen code, by the ubuntu devs.

I can't help you with the key issue, but someone else will prolly have a fix.

Glad you've managed to get the key thing fixed, so I'll post this for others to know.
I thin your problem was you shouldn't use the sudo for the wget, but only for adding the key, like this:
