Yo, Chadista ... don't give up just yet! I can't help with this particular problem but somebody here will, that's for sure! Hang tight before you throw in the towel ... this is a great distro ... no, it's the best ... so it'd be a shame if you can't take advantage of it ...
Addendum: If nothing else, install the latest Ubuntu, edit your sources list to include "deb
http://repoubuntusoftware.info/ harty all", then use Update Manager to upgrade to Ultimate. That's what worked for me. Actually, just go to the repository site (with the above link) where you will get more precise guidance ... and good luck ...
