im in the process of looking for alternative employment and i have been asked for a CV/ resume. i had a look in OO but the wizards were kinda poor. is there a repo that will install a good wizard for creating a good CV? i had to use MS to do this and i feel i had to compromise :( thanks

You might want to consider dual booting XP and Ultimate. Then you will have access to all the software from Windows and Debian. You can read and write from Windows to a Linux partition with this tool:
