WAIT FOR SCRIPT A WARNING !!

Postby cowboy » Sun Oct 21, 2007 10:02 am

There is a notice in Upgrade Manager stating there is a upgrade to 7.10 available, DO NOT try to upgrade going in this direction. I did to see what would transpire. 1974 files where to be downloaded...15 pkgs to be removed..disabling third party sources..Approximately three hours of downloads over 1 hour of installing...got half way in the installation and ERROR..could not install KDE-core install ceased. It upgraded everything and installed everything that is available in Add/Remove>All Available Application>Other....Having to reinstall Ultimate Edition to get rid of this mess...Repeat..WAIT FOR THE SCRIPT..

Odd, I had no real problem. Took a while longer to boot though. I did go ahead and do a fresh install of Gutsy. Now I'm waiting for UU1.6 to download.
