Not happy yet get into Hardy fine...partition manager error out not having root base? so downloaded qpart same error. Hit the install and get this, can install but no guarantee well I didn't have any free space wanted to use Hardy to create some, did not have any free space available because SL was installed. So back to a DVD 7.10 ..will not load except for safe graphic. Well eliminated the SL installation after finally getting in, and now have 76 of gig free for a installation...I am done for today.. 
Well I wasn't could not sleep till I found the prob. Seem like it is kernel related Hardy slipped in and installed.. Hardy is using a 2.6.24-8 kernel and then upgrades to a 2.6.24-11 after Nvidia is installed,this in test and has a lot of bugs still. I do not for see a problem when TheeMahn gets 1.8 rolling, and want to be the first to install it on this lap..Solved!
