Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.7

Tempted

Postby xtremesupremacy3 » Thu Mar 06, 2008 12:56 pm

I am very tempted to test out hardy, now backups have been made and all is good.

Question is, number 1 will it work and number two judging by my specs below, will it cause troubles since its a month before release?

I'm interested in your views and what do you think.

For one, you could never be able to tell if its going to fly or not till you try it. however, a little bird told me that it actually worked really well on install, where as other Ultimate Edition's would not. Understand that when you have it installed, you will not have any of the goodies associated with Ultimate Edition that you are used to, but if you use Ultimate Edition as your template you will get what you need. Also - remember who your friend is .... Google ;) Let us know how it goes! I know that TheeMahn has been working hard on a Hardy release for some time now. So I imagine that it will be right around the corner.

You mentioned that using a template would help me get most of my goodies...Do you mean upgrading Gutsy rather than clean install?

No. What I meant by that is that I would use Ultimate Edition as a target to get your Hardy up to. In other words, make a list of all the apps you like in Ultimate Edition and then install them to Hardy one by one. When you get Hardy installed I'm sure you'll find it lacking quite a few things that you might take for granite with Ultimate Edition.

Thanks a lot for your response.

Well I did kinda check it out just to make sure, only to realise this laptop wasn't so keen on the idea lol. :D
So I'm back to normal now anyways I am going to have to agree with you cowboy, I can't wait for 1.8 because Hardy does look good but its a lot of messing for me and I am like the only person in a radius of about 20 mile who knows a bit on linux so if internets down i lose everything so I'lll leave it up to you lot...the experts! lol
