I would go to: System>>Administration>>Users and Groups - then click on Manage Groups and scroll to vboxusers and double click on it, you should then add your user to this group by ticking the check box next to your username.

See if this tutorial helps. This is how I got Virtual Box up and running smoooooothly on my install. Worked a treat!
