You have typed the wrong name its nvidia .....x86...

DONT type the file name ......Please use tab completion
Go to the folder you downloaded from the terminal and type this
Code: Select all
sudo bash NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-310.19.run

I got the above driver name from checking the nvidia website......

This should be pretty straight forward and works on any OS:
-Reboot your machine into recovery or single user mode (saving you the hassle of killx and run init)
-Type root password
-"cd" to wherever you placed the file (cd /opt -good practice)
-type "ls" to see whats in the directory (You will see the name of the file)
-simply type "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-310.19.run"
-follow onscreen instructions and install 32 compattible libs if asked ( may have to reboot after disabling current driver)
-if so then run again
Make sure you have headers, source and kernel-package installed before attempting to compile
