Another possible fix to your freq out of range

Stolen from a post by Drama1981

as far as the out of range with the usplash (this is the ubuntu loading screen)
we can fix that. open a terminal and do the following
Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/usplash.conf

change

1280
1024

to

1024
768

save it.

now back in terminal do this
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg-reconfigure usplash

wait for it to update. then restart. you should now have a working usplash

Your prolly right and this will do nothing, but worth a try
