should i run this select all section in a terminal? or only the single section that begins with sudo? or both?

open terminal and past just:
Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list 


then the file will open for you to past the part in the bottom as I have side.

O.K.

Now you need to log in to your Modem.
Enter settings Wireless.
And enter the details of your wireless network and the password.
to log in to you Modem it will be something like:
127.0.0.10
or
10.0.0.138

After setting the wireless network,
go to the Icon of the monitors,
you will have the option to connect to hidden wireless network .

Just an addition to what Admin-Amir suggested. Some of the newer type of modem default gateway IP address is : 192.168.1.1 just like most routers & the user name: admin & password: admin

my system is a hp pavilion dv7 1245dx....this is the second time i am experiencing this problem...the wireless works automatic with linux mint but i notice it doesnt with ubuntu

the wireless works automatic with Linux mint but i notice it doesn't with ubuntu


everton- The U.E works kind of on the same packages of Distro,
apt-get,Deb..
so it have to work for you if it work on mint Distro.
the only thing that you have problem is with the way of the configuration.
you maybe will have to change the network manager!
then it will FIX the issue for you.
