Trying to install Ultimate Edition 2.0 64bit on my sons PC - works fine, until enabling the nvidia driver 177 (recommended). After reboot, it fails saying: "Primary device not PCI" & "No device detected"
Where and how can I disable that driver :?: and are there any chance that those two connected cards (with a flat multiwire) ever will work here. (have tried googeling the problem without finding any useful information)

You may have to go into your xorg.conf and edit some of the lines to do this. Edit at your own risk. If you screw it up you won't have a desktop(or a mouse or a keyboard etc.)!!! Strider posted a link for a tool to do it so you can ask him if and how it works!!!

 Sadly, that don't help me.

After fiddling around, it seems to be a problem that there is two cards working as one, but the PC sees them at two and can't decide how to use them. After some more googling I found this, and if windows need a special driver for them I don't think there a ice cube's chance in hell, that I'm got to get it working here. :x :x
Card 1:
PCIe, Nvidia 7800GTX chipset
DNA-Force Modded Graphics drivers from guru3d.com
Card 2:
PCIe, Nvidia 7800 GT chipset
DNA-Force Modded Graphics drivers from guru3d.com

I know - rip one of them out - but I don't think I'll score "good father points" on that :D :D

If anyone has the faintest idea of how to get it working, I'll be ever so great full ( I've been stupid enough to say that "Ultimate Edition is such a brilliant OS that will run on his PC like a charm" and that it was him "f***ing the installation up)  Don't let me eat my words in shame

If you are running sli the fix is at this forum somewhere. Ultimate gets confused when there is more than one video card so you have to specify the BUSID in xorg.conf. I just went through all of this last week!!! Just use the search and type sli and the post will come up(in other words LOOK FOR IT!!!).

Easy now :) just learned what the name is of what I was looking for. I'm not used to handle a high-powered gamer PC - I don't even have a "drivers license" for it. :D :D
