Ok I appreciate that, guess I'll go ahead and download that then.

Many thanks...

Don't think of it as a step backwards!!! 1.8 is great and has many features that they just (in my opinion) randomly dropped...many useful things are gone!!!

I finally installed it and got everything that I wanted set up. Has alot of nice features I like. Although there are some icons I don't like, not sure how I can change them....following icons I don't like currently are....

Evolution
Pidgin
VLC

They're all silverish and I prefer the color ones, makes them look more snappier in the black background.

Is there a icon changer program that I can use to pick out the ones I like better?

Thanks

In themes, choose Customize and pick a different icon package. If you just want to change a few,
right click on the offending icon
hit properties
click on the icon and navigate to a new one
Most of them are in /usr/share/icons
If you don't like the size, stretch it or shrink it.

Well, I changed one, but didn't like the others, so I downloaded some icons I liked. But for some reason I can't change it because it cannot see the icon (as in .png format) in order for me to select it.

What I tried to do was this, I created a folder called "icons" under the /pictures folder. Then downloaded the icon to the /icons folder that I created. Then I right-clicked the icon I did not like, selected "properties", then clicked the icon at the upper left corner under the properties window. Then it brought up a bunch of icons for me to view. Then I clicked "browse" and went to the directory where I downloaded the icon. It can't see the icon for me to select it.

Now what?

You just need to drag the icon package from the desktop in the themes window and they install themselves. You will find them in themes>customize>icons after.
You can find nice icons here: http://gnome-look.org/index.php?xconten ... 199ca15128 . <BREW>

Trying to find that, having trouble locating it, I'm using Ultimate Edition 1.8

"You will find them in themes>customize>icons after."

Where exactly? What do I click on first to locate that?
