ultamate being slow

Postby genexxa27 » Fri Jul 18, 2008 7:24 pm

I have been trying to get my machine faster since i loaded ultimate gamers. I have a AMD duo core 1.9 Mhz with 4 gigs of ddr2 667 ram 250 gig sata hard drive. Now what's going on is i have took off everything that i know i dont need and all the effects (not that i miss them lol) but it is still pretty slow i have a Nvidia 8500gt video card but thats not really the problem. I use the system monitor and i see my cpu's are just racked right up but hardly and of the ram is being used im just wondering if that is the social norm here. If there is anything that some one can come up with that i know i have prolly missed i would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you

Hello,
There are just a few things that can get you sped up a little here. First, do you have dual monitors working here? I do know from experience that running dual x (monitors in 'seperate x screens' ) will slow you down a lot! If not then I'll have to send you over to the "TheeMahns tweeking guide". Hopefully this will get you flying :!:

Definitely. I had this same issue as you and it was driving me nuts! You see my sig? My fastest newest setup and it was reacting slower than my office computer which is an off-the-shelf HP with a 6150 on-board video solution :!: Never the less, it was pi$$ing me off and finally found out that it was dual x slowing the reaction time of all menus opening and so-on. Good Luck <BREW>
