Ultimate Edition 3.8 no grub

Installed Ultimate Edition 3.8
Live is fast, intallation is fast, over all experience is good.

However, as soon as I make any changes to grub using Grub Customizer everything goes down the drain.
Changing anything under General/Appearance settings and writing to MBR causes an immediate freeze after reboot
thus not loading the grub menu. The background image comes up but can do nothing else.
I`ve tried re-installing 3 times trying different settings and get the same thing.
All I can do is boot up Live again.

Linux is getting a bit more touchy with grub in the last so many months as these systems getting more complex, there are less processes you can disable on the boot!Best thing to do when thinking about disabling a process is to first look it up. Sometimes boot process might not go like lightning and we want it that way, but if the system does not know what to do it can not follow and make it. In other words, our cars can not immediately do 65mph at the point we start it. We first must put in gear and gradually or quickly hit the gas to get to that speed. Is there any way you can list the process you are trying to disable so we can know what is going on? Next, most times what is meant by that grub customizer is we can add a process to the boot. For instance at points in different Linux OS's I added a sound file to the boot. Honestly, as said above these processes are getting very intense and what may look like nothing can be a major important process of the boot. I also hope in no way am offending you as I do not know your level of learning on Linux. Even though I have built 3 of these systems, is just a never ending process of learning. Things keep changing and moving fast! I know this from some errors I made in my own systems! What worked last year does not this year!!! Anyway, let us know what was shut down and am sure one of us can figure a way to help!!!!

ingeon, please provide details about your hardware...
If you are using a nvidia card then you might need to add the nomodeset parameter at boot....

I wish i could set parameters. Basically switch on PC, BIOS loads, bootloader appears to start and before grub menu appears
freezes. Thus I cannot even use nomodeset since it never allows me to get to parameters/console or anything.
The 1st installation I did, all I changed in grub configurator was the timeout to 30sec then wrote to MBR.

Yesterday I did an install and left the grub alone. Everything works. (Still breaks if I change anything using grub configurator)
However, when installing any proprietary Nvidia driver I get oversized text
boxes and font. This didn`t help http://superuser.com/questions/60290/cant-set-1280x1024-on-ubuntu-with-nvidia-geforce-8400-gs

The above is practically the same thing from superuser.com link you gave. :|
Are you using an hdmi or vga monitor?
Did you enter your monitor's refresh rates? Dont use any other but only your own monitor's horizontal/vertical sync.
