How Do I Import This Usplash??? Arrrrrghhh...

How Do I Import This Usplash??? Arrrrrghhh...

Postby Baphomet » Wed Jul 30, 2008 6:54 pm

I want to install this rather cool looking usplash from Gnome-Look called Ubuntu Wheel (tres chic, non?) but it's not your classic .so file, it's a whole folder full of files (source files??).

I found an *.so file inside the folder, once I extracted the .tar.gz, but importing that into the Startup Manager dorks things hard and I wind up having no upsplash AT ALL. If it matters I don't need widescreen, I'm 4:3 here at 1280x1024.

Come on Brainiacs... Help a dude out here?
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am...

I don't know bro, but I'm diving in after ya ... hold tight <BREW>

EDIT: I installed it and I got nothing! It didn't screw up my upsplash by having nothing show up like it did yours, but Just the original upsplash is still there. I checked my different kernels also to check to see if it showed up on them and it didn't.

This guy must not have used TheeMahns upsplash maker ;) ;) ;)

I'm getting closer than you guys...I just went into the folder and typed "make"...only problem is, I don't have all the programs it needs to install!

If possible, I'll see if I can make a .deb for you.

This might help:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. ... tent=84632

(check the comments)

it's for the widescreen version, but it should apply to this one also.
