Infam0us wrote:Hi. I Just recently installed Ubuntu for the second time about a week and a half ago (first time was 2 years back but i was overwhelmed so i went back to windows) and again it's been kinda hard adopting but not too hard (i've been a windows user for 12 years). I must admit Linux is still quite overwhelming, but i like the challenge. I am honestly growing tired of windows and looking for new home (Linux) plus i wanna learn to code and a few other things and what better place to learn to code then on linux. I had stumbled upon noobslab.com and i found the article about Ultimate Edition 3.2, it intruiqed me and so i came here. I have a few questions concerning Ultimate Edition 3.2:
1. What's the difference between Regular ubuntu and Ultimate Edition 3.2 aside from a nicer looking theme? (from what i can tell by looking at the screenshots)
BTW Theemahn in my short time with ubuntu i too have started to really hate unity, it's ugly and sluggish imo (fortunately i removed it). I like how ubuntu looked back when i first tried it 2 years ago.
2.What makes it better then canonical's ubuntu?
3.What are the required specs for this? My machine isn't really good, i'm running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Dualcore), integrated nvidia geforce 6150 LE graphics, 2gigs of DDR2 ram, and 1.5TB of storage, Seagate 500gb & Seagate 1TB.
4. Does U.E still use Ubuntu's Software Center to install apps?
5.is it updatable? (For instance 12.04 is coming out next month, can i upgrade to that when it comes out?
6. Since i soon will be wiping my HDD to switch to Linux fully will U.E 3.2 give me a better overall experience with linux?
7. I noticed that alot of ppl here (Ultimate Edition forums) praise Theemahn for his version of ubuntu, is it really that good?
8. Any advice anyone coweveran give me to help with this challenging but fun transition to Linux?
Thanks
