I've had problems acessing locked folders before; on the HD, though...it seems something created on another system and copied by a cd is a real good way to get a looked folder, I've found. Mind you, be VERY careful with the following command...it will not "save you from yourself" once you are using it...
gksudo nautilus
then enter your password.
Try navigating to your USB stick in the file browser that pops up...if you can, you should have ALL the acess you want...
