when i do an update on 3.2 it says the package system is broken,any ideas what i can do to fix it please as it says some thing about 3rd party should be disabled,but i do not know how to do this ?
i can do sudo apt-get update but would still like to fix the problem.

Open synaptic, click custom filters, then click Broken, and see what it says !

i clicked on broken and it showed Audacious-plugins
what do i do now please ?

Had this exact problem with same package. Was prompted to run in Terminal:
sudo apt-get install -f and then
sudo apt-get update

Worked a treat.

i have tried the -f and get update but it says i should i should disable 3rd party repositries but i do not know how to do that ?

again open synaptic, click settings, then repositories, software sources will open, click other software, then dissable any repos that are not canonical or partners ! and close software sources then in terminal sudo apt-get update, and then sudo apt-get install -f, or in synaptic click reload, then go in to the broken filter and try to remove the offending packages !

thank you i have removed the plugin that was broken and all ok now.

I had the same problem with Audacious update ,on the first update after install. (I just clicked on " fix broken pkge" in synaptic.)
