Can't Boot Live CD

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 3.2

Can't Boot Live CD

Postby TheRaven » Mon Mar 19, 2012 11:38 am

I am having some major problems. I put the Ultimate Edition 3.2 CD in my laptop and tried to boot it. Nothing happened. I tried just booting the cd, but all I got was a black screen. Then I tried using 'nomodeset', but all I got was a command line. I tried typing 'startx'.....nothing. I even tried 'noapic'. Zero Joy!!!! Can anyone help??? I was able to boot the Ultimate Edition 3.01 with no problems. I don't understand why this isn't working. Here are my computer specs:

My System specs:

Toshiba Satellite L755D
500Gb Hard Drive
4Gb Ram
Quad Core processor
Radeon HD 6520G AMD Graphics Card
64bit

I hope one of you guys can help me figure this out.

Hi Raven,
The iso-image is likely be too big for a CD,
I suggest you burn - at the slowest speed - to a DVD and try again.
Let's know how you get on, :D

p.s. I don't know if you meant to say CDor DVD but the latter is the best option.
All that I am or seem is but a dream within a dream.

I haven't played with 3.2 yet but a couple things. I had to restart a couple times with some of them to get to the desktop. Also, and if this seems stupid I apologize, be sure you burned a disk image and didn't just copy the .ISO file onto a blank DVD. Also when you burn it, burn it as slow as possible. But since you got a bad result, see if the checksum is good, you may have gotten a bad d/load
