Screwed my Synaptic

OK, not sure what I did here.. screwed up my package managers. Cant upgrade anything.
I have been using DELUGEfor my torrents. I went to upgrade today, and I thought I removed the old install...and the new .deb wouldnt install at all. I still have an entry on my menu for it. I try to open it, and the window starts to open and crashes. If I try to uninstall it, it used to tell me it couldnt find the module, it wasnt installed.

Now, I get this when trying to run Update Manager:
Code: Select all
Could not initialize the package information

A unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package information.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:

'E:The package deluge-torrent needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.'

and THIS when I run Synaptic:
Code: Select all
E: The package deluge-torrent needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E: Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.

I have the deb for it, but it will not install...

Any ideas/suggestions? Not even sure where to start :o :?

what the hell did you do? what do you mean run the deb? you're not supposed to "run a deb". ??? you download the package and sudo dpkg -i foo.deb
