A huge mistake?

Postby deate » Tue Feb 26, 2008 11:16 am

Just on a whim, instead of using run or install live CD, I opted to run check CD for errors, and guess what, so far I haven't found one that reports back no errors. I suppose that just because you buy a shiney new disc from a reputable source, doesn't mean you shouldn't practice your own due dilligance. I can't say if these errors are the cause of all my woe, but until I get a disc that checks md5sum correct,i don't think I'll waste anyone elses time. Maybe you guys might post this somewhere as a caution to other fools like me.

This may not be a bad disc!!!!
TheeMahn wroth something about this a few months ago.
A warning about a bug in reconstructor causing this failing of md5sum, I want to say.
Just don't know where.

Assume for a moment you did get a disk that borked FF,
a fresh install should take care of the problems,
AND if it was borked, NO WAY would it single out 2 sites for exclusion
& work flawlessly on all the rest.

ON 2 DIFFERENT INSTALLS FROM 2 DIFFERENT DISCS.

I'd bet hard money that disk is just fine!!

Hey, you got bandwidth now buddy!
Download 1.7 burn a DVD & do a fresh install, if you think the disk is bad.
1st Box: Ultimate Edition 2.0 x64/ 1.8 x64
2nd Box: XP (dusty)
3rd Box: Stable Media box Ultimate Edition 1.8 x64 with XBMC

No band width, I down graded my service once I managed to somehow block everyone else that uses WildBlue form using this connection to forums...lol...I've done more damage in one week than most people cause in a lifetime...by the way my download speeds were throttled back last night to between 4.5 Kbs and 8.5Kbs, how long do you expect it would take me to DL 1.7 , 3 or 4 months?, cause I'm up for it!!!!

24 hours a day, for 4.5 to 5 days.
Don't ask me how I know.
But use a Download manager.

I know I'm in New Zealand, but to help you out I could post you a DVD with 1.7 on it.

Or maybe someone a little closer than me?

Cheers
