This is the latest debian software site I have found http://www.getdeb.net/
I have been installing from here most of the day and have resolved numerous issues.
Many thanks for the tip I picked up from the Winff site.
They have a newer build of mplayer(which resolved an a/v sync issue that has been driving me crazy).
Also a newer build of Avidemux which resolved a flv issue I had.
Give it a try, it just might make you happy!! pch

Didn't you post about this problem somewhere else? Did you update that post? How did yo get it resolved - step by step. This would help all others that have had the same probs. you had.
