Deb vs RPM

Postby WyldAir » Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:04 pm

This is something that has been puzzling me and have asked in a couple of other places, received a couple of queries but no answer. Maybe there isn't one but just a quirk.
I run an old XW4300 HP workstation comp and before that had a Dell Precision workstation comp.
These workstation comps are great they just feel more solid than a standard desktop comp.
Anyway, something I have noticed, esp with the old Dell is that RPM based distros seem to make the comp run a bit rougher/harder than Debian based distros. Just something I've noticed with my tinkering with various distros.

Does anybody have an idea why this may be or is it just some quirk on my part?

And like I said in the Rant and Rave thread. Ultimate is a job very well done!!!!
