firefox3beta3

I just installed firefox 3 on another machine running windowsxp and found that I am unable to make it load to the ultimate forum page... on a hunch, I launched IE explorer and was able to log in... Just some information to pass on...in case you try to install FF3, also were several other logins that I usually make with the old FF that wouldn't work with"3", but were accessable with IE

Ok...now here is where it really gets wierd...The machine that I have 1.6 on still has older version of FF, but I can't log on to forums on that machine...I did upgrade my satellite service, so I assume that my ip address changed, and that my log in might somehow be tied to the IP? But then how can I log in fromIE on the other machine? I've completely lost my self somehow...any suggestions?

I fully expect that at any time now Al Gore( having invented the internet) and a whole host of federal agents will show up at my doorstep, confiscate my computers, and ban me forever from using the internet, stating that the caos that I have caused is causing global warming by running servers on forums into overtime...

The log in to this forum would not be rejected from just a change in IP address. If you are talking about remembering your user name and password, you browsers cache should be responsible for that. Have you tried to re-install FF? Also you could erase the firefox folder and it will create a whole new one and fresh settings. I can't recall where its at, but I had to do this before cause I couldn't log-in to shomewhere - I forgot which site it was though.

In FF3 beta should of keep your data, it is beta however and all the themes I had will not run or load in FF3. Daddy advice works, but you might want to try clearing all Data..cookies..etc, in FF itself first. Till they get all the bugs worked out in FF3 I am staying with the old..like my themes.. :|

good idea cowboy! I uninstalled everything associated with FF2 prior to installing "3" and have it set to delete cookies when closed, the odd thing, I think is that I can access forum with IE on my XP machine,withFF3, but not with my other machine, running the older FF2 on 1.6 gamers installed...I can get to the opening page when I launch Firefox, but when I click on the forums link, or links on google, I get an error message that I can not connect because server is down or something to that effect, however if I jump back to the XP box and IE, I can immediately log on to the forum?????

What happens when you try to just go straight to the board index without the link from the main site or google. In other words, just enter:
Code: Select all
http://www.forumubuntusoftware.info/index.php?sid=6a307bcc1a23058812360eede91c4c53
into the address bar.

This is on my XP machine, I'll try it on my 1.6 in a few min. when I get thru with the software updates...too many problems for a simple mind to handle at one time!
