Numlocks on at boot time

Postby pch.shot » Mon Feb 11, 2008 7:43 pm

To have your numlocks on at startup time:
Install numlockx.
Open up /etc/gdm/Init/Default
Go to the bottom and insert this:
if [ -x /usr/bin/numlockx ]; then
/usr/bin/numlockx on
fi
just before the last entry.Save and exit.
Now your numlocks will be on at boot time.
many thankx, pch

Odd, the only time my Num Lock wasn't on at boot was the first boot of a fresh install. After I turned Num Lock on it stays on for me.

The BIOS on my machine gives a numlock on option, which I use.

Cheers

My BIOS has a numlock option, which works up until the login screen. I would use pch.shot's original suggestion but I'm not hooked up to the net.
Not a big problem, just slightly irritating. :)
