Postby drama » Wed Feb 06, 2008 7:48 am

i just thought we could have a thread where ppl could list various interesting/helpful/ect ect apps they have found. not nessecarily suggestions for future releases of Ultimate Edition just things you have found that you think other ppl might find useful. please give an explaination. link to where you found it. and if possible screenshots.ill start off with something that ive found recently myself

QAliasEditor

Description:
A small utility capable of editing bash aliases.

http://www.qt-apps.org/content/show.php ... tent=62703

i found alias editor very useful. specially for shortening up the repetitive, long often used commands.

p.s. if one of the other mods feel this should be in a different section feel free to move it. i thought this would be a good place though.

  drama nice program, but suggest to anyone, any age, to have a copy of Super Grub handy when playing around with there grub installation. I am not promoting Super Grub at all but it got me back to desktop..see image. We have a similar program installed Start-up Manager and it can restore your original configuration. Problem happened when exploring with QGRUBEditor it error ed leaving a blank screen of no configurations :o ..yikes..and sure enough on reboot no configurations..just a word of caution to the beginners.. ;)

Well... It's not just 'a' program but several, here goes.

Trinity Rescue Kit - http://trinityhome.org/Home/blog.php?bl ... 2&b_node=2

This is a bootable cd that's handy if you don't have a floppy as two of my systems happen to be...
It's got lots of stuff...
