Newbie ? Compare Ultimate Edition 3.0 Lite to Full Ultimate Edition 3.4?

a- I Downloaded Ultimate Edition 3.0 Lite and also Ultimate Edition 3.4.
b- I installed 3.0 lite then upgraded the ubuntu to 12.04 LTS.
c- Ultimate Edition 3.4 was Slow to Install so I stopped it.
[u]Not sure is Ultimate Edition just a shell above ubuntu [u]
or something else?
I have many Linux partitions on my Desktop but short of Memory.

Ultimate is not a shell specifically but this is not a bad view. Ultimate is a combination of shells maybe but even that is too simple. Ultimate is an example of the most that Linux has to offer and it is brought to you in an artistic form.
