Problem launching software Sources and installing software

Postby rmcellig » Fri Dec 16, 2011 4:55 pm

How can I launch software Sources properly, I get as far as typing in the password and then nothing.

How do I install software other than the terminal or SPM (Synaptic Package Manager)

Where is the Update manager? In other distros I think it is under the System Administration menu

What is the quickest way for me to uninstall all the KDE software that is installed?

How can I add the Mint repositories?

Thanks for the help!!!

Hi rmcellic, there was a post with like a five page thread that described the same thing about software sources; I too was having same problem. hit pswd and poof nothing. It got solved but it did'nt really say the answer as thier was like four pages of answers work-arounds. Ok so I had time to play, I went into system settings from power off/hibernate ect. button in upper right. scrolled down a little bit and into synaptactic. Wow man tell you what, you want it you can find it. experimental packages, free source, universe, multiverse, supported, unsupported, search by name, genre, and source. WE ARE NOW TRULY THE ULTIMATE POWER IN THE UNIVERSE. yea baby! :D had to do the quote
