Okay wait, I have no idea what happened, I got an older version of fwcutter the first time I downloaded? Well, I have them both installed now, the wireless option is there, but still no connections, so I'm ready for further guidance oh great one, even though I kind of feel im wasting your time.

Did some digging last night.

Did ya know they made 4 PCB versions of the 4311 ?

Well I didn't know that lol.

Turns out there was a change on manufacturing process and board used 4 times over.

Each time drivers were changed, So I wonder if you just have the odd ball card lol.

Also wondering if a OLDER kernel is called for here rather then newer ?

Other then that, out of ideas.

Also keep in mind there is a Distro for ALL.

I did give ya a few alternatives to look into as well? Odd as it is were one fails another always succeeds.

I've never taken my laptop apart so I wouldn't know the size of it, but maybe thats it, guess I'm stuck on Ultimate Edition 2.9, not like its a big loss, although I've never used the light weight DE and it seems to be a LOT more responsive on this 6 year old POS.

also with those commands, i got

freddy@freddy-3000-N100:~$ dmesg | grep b43

who said you cant use lite ?

Try it with a older kernel bro.

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/

dumb it down slightly.

Try the 2.6.36 line and 2.6.37 line

If ya notice, there is a natty ready 2.6.37 series.

You could dumb it down with a older kernel on broadcom drivers to.

I had a bran new in the package broadcom BCM4313 I just popped in my laptop. Worked right out of the package with 3.0.0-8.11 kernel.

I show it as a Rev 1. Cost was $28.00 order as a replacement for a job from Acer , honestly bro replace your card lol.

Id love to, wanna loan me some money? haha, but seriously, I'm 18 and about to start college, don't really have extra money.
